Who benefits?
A woman who is a victim of any violence at a women's shelter is given shelter with her children. In addition, a women's shelter in Ahmedabad is functioning separately for a mentally ill and HIV positive sister.
How much benefit?
Age limit for women aged 18 to 59 years
Shelter is given to a daughter between the ages of 0 to 14 and a son between the ages of 0 to 6.
Those who have a son between the ages of 6 to 14 are presented to the Child Welfare Committee from the Home and placed in a child protection organization.
No income limit is applicable under this scheme. Women benefit from this scheme more than once

Dependent sisters at home with high security walls at the residence and the entire building with CCTV cameras for safety and security.
Nutritious food, clean RO water, vocational and livelihood training, children's indoor and outdoor play equipment, library as well as LCD TV, music system equipment are also available for entertainment.
To provide encouragement to women by exhibiting and co-selling items produced by dependent sisters.
Where to get the benefit
In order to get shelter at a women's shelter, any woman can voluntarily go to the shelter with her children in case of need.
Apart from this, shelter is provided through Honorable Court Orders, Police Station Orders and 181 Mahila Abhayam Helpline, Police Station Based Support Center.
A total of 10 Women's Defense Home Centers are functioning in the entire district.
Dependent sister is provided shelter, nutritious diet, vocational training, proper counseling, legal advice, health check-up at home.

What evidence is required?
A court order is obtained if a woman is in a legal dispute for asylum at a women's shelter.
