US consumer confidence improves in February
The Consumer Sentiment Index in the United States improved by 1.6% in February compared to the previous month, reaching 57.3, which came in above analysts' expectations, according to a preliminary report released by the University of Michigan on Friday. However, the figure plunged by 11.4% on an annual basis. The Current Economic Conditions Index jumped by 5.2% month-over-month to stand at 58.3 in February, dropping by 11.3% year-on-year.
