Range Bar Indicator for MT4

Hello,

I have looked around and cannot seem to find a range bar indicator for MT4, does anyone know where I can find one or if they have one?

Range bar indicator just looks at pip movement, creates a bar based on certain pips, i.e 10 pips, therefore all bars are 10 pip in size, this is not Renko.

This is what I found in the 'instructions.txt' with the file attached at forex-tsd.

range bars converter for MetaTrader4 by wlas

Hello MT4 users!

1) set timeframe to M1
2) drag the indicator into your chart
3) check the "Allow dll import" box
4) set the tick range
5) go to "file" -> "open offline"
6) select "symbol,M2" (example - EURUSD,M2)
7) opened graph is a tick range bar chart

Please, ignore times on the new graph, they are artifical.
If they are gaps on the market, range of that bar with the gap may be higher.

Is it the same as "pip" range bar?

Thanks for posting, been looking for one of these off & on for a while now, and seems to be working.

Is this the best free MT4 range bar chart indi etc you've been able to find so far?

Yes.
On some markets (futures etc.) tick means one minimal price change, same as pip on FOREX.

I just added the Range indicator to my chart. I followed the instructions. The last bar was 2 days ago. I set the parameters for 10 ticks. I noticed some of the bars were over 20 ticks.

What do I need to do for the chart to update in real time?

Range Bars are new kind of market analyze.
It smooth "market noise" for intraday trades and gives more accurace signals.

Ranged bars are not built on time and on the course price. Suppose we
set a parameter Range 20 - that means that each new candle will be formed (closed)
during the passage of the prices up or down by 20 points. Hence some conclusions about the charts:
1. The timeline will be irregular;
2. Candles will ALWAYS be the same size Range = (High - Low);
3. Never will the candles with two shadows simultaneously, ie Close will always equal or
High or Low.
4. It is possible to predict the approximate level of closure of the candles.

Range Bars presents in some modern trade platforms, such NinjaTrader, as a kind of charts. But there aren't RangeBars in MetaTrader4.

"Range bars" isn't standard indicator (in MetaTrader4). It may be indicator, or may be script or expert - that depend from developer. You must ask your indicator's author about your problem.
