Hi Senior Traders
PJ,
I discovered all threads posted about GMMA or related in FF are inactive.
I hope some Senior Traders can refer / recommend an active thread / link / forum about this GMMA trading method. Or if you are currently using it, pls. post your trades and guide the newbies.
I wish to learn this GMMA trading method.
Thank you for your time.
I Googled "Guppy MMA" and then "Guppy MMA forex" and found a number of links.
The
first of these has links to five GMMA-related threads on FF:

I leave you to check these however you see fit.
My understanding is that GMMA is basically a trend following system, consisting of two sets of 5-6 MMAs. When price retraces into the group of shorter period MMAs, that represents a pullback in the longer term trend, and allows one a good price entry into this trend, on the assumption that it remains intact. When price breaks the second set of MMAs, eventually causing this group to change direction, then the major trend is considered to have broken down, and a reversal is about to occur.
IMO, when it comes to FX, S/R is more 'accurate' in picking reversal points than MAs (reasons
here), but having said that, there are many FX traders who use MAs successfully.
Some years ago I read a couple of Daryl Guppy's books. He invented GMMAs to support trading of equities rather than forex. To whatever extent forex trends, in whatever TFs GMMAs are used, obviously they will be as profitable as any other trend following system (but of course much depends on how you exit, manage risk, etc).
There's a vast sea of info on the internet about GMMAs, if you want to perform your own search.
Sorry I can't be more help, I don't use GMMA myself.
Good luck,

David
