Strategy Overview: This is not a standard "set and forget" grid. It uses a News Filter to pause execution during high-impact events. We noticed it performs best on EURUSD H1, specifically when capitalizing on the mean reversion during the US/Asian crossover.
Drawdown Warning: While the V12 update handles small trends well, please be careful with the 'Grid Step' parameter. The default settings are a bit aggressive for small accounts ($200). We recommend increasing the Step size to reduce trade frequency.

We just archived a new volatility tool that is useful for spotting exhaustion wicks on Gold (XAUUSD) and Indices.
How it works: Unlike standard RSI/Stochastic which can stay overbought for hours, this indicator measures Price Velocity (speed of the move) relative to the mean. It prints a signal when price stretches "too far, too fast."
Best Use Case (False Breakouts): I've been testing this on the M15 timeframe to catch "Stop Hunts."

  1. If price spikes hard into a Support level AND the indicator prints a Blue Dot, it often signals a V-shape reversal (liquidity grab).
  2. MTF Feature: You can set the indicator to monitor H4 volatility while trading on M15, keeping you aligned with the higher timeframe trend.

We've archived the Medici EA for Gold.

Technical Observation: Ignore the "Neural Network" marketing on the sales page. The input parameters confirm it is an RSI + ZigZag strategy.

Performance Note: In our backtest (Feb-Dec 2025), it showed a Max Drawdown of 7.69%, which is very low for a Martingale on XAUUSD. However, be aware that the default settings appear to be Short-Biased (it took 45 Shorts and 0 Longs).
Recommendation: Good for a "Bearish Gold" portfolio, but needs optimization to trade both ways.

Quick Summary:

Sharing a review of an interesting free MT4 indicator ?the Bollinger Bands Trader by TradeCodeLabs.
What it does differently from standard Bollinger Bands:

  1. Dual-deviation bands ?Plots 2.0 SD and 3.0 SD bands simultaneously. Level 1 entries on the 2.0 band, Level 2 entries on the 3.0 band (rare 3-sigma events).
  2. Trend filter ?Before any signal, the indicator checks three conditions: 50 EMA direction, RSI(14) momentum, and MACD confirmation. If all three confirm a strong trend, counter-trend signals are blocked. This prevents the classic "catching a falling knife" problem.
  3. Dynamic take-profit ?TP adjusts to the Middle Band (20 SMA) instead of a fixed pip target.
  4. On-chart dashboard ?Displays trend status, signal level, calculated SL, and TP.

Non-repainting. Works on all assets and timeframes. 100% free.
The trend filter is the most interesting part. In strong trends, you only get signals WITH the trend (mean reversion toward the trend). In ranging markets, you get signals in both directions.
