Why not trade on fridays?

Without limits it's likely, that you will have significant losses, especially if you left open near market close
Trade everyday... some are slower than others and as holidays. One cannot predict which days are good to trade ... until the end of the day. Figures state that Fridays and Sundays are slow... but I have seen days when Fridays and Sundays were the best days to trade for that week.
^^^ This in my opinion. I mean volatility Friday seems to dry up around noon. I think it depends on your trading style. If you are a day trader and plan to close positions around noon, then I think trading Friday is okay. Otherwise if you are going to be in a position after noon, then it makes more sense not to trade Friday.
It's hard to predict fridays, this is a good day for profit losses, produced during the week.
Hello... How come that I have read in many places, that fridays is not a good day to place trades??

Weekend gaps, spread widenings, impossibility to manage your positions, headache after drunk weekend - all it adds up to even high enough risks to blow out your account on monday
I don't believe in such things that you shouldn't trade on any particular days. However if there is some high impact news, then you can avoid trading regardless its Friday or not. But only considering that Fridays are bad for trading, without any reason is not what I believe on.

Most of the times Forex news will not come or the scope of such a news is limited.

We have to understand this and also make sure that if our trading is not dependent on news we can stay away from it

Well, if you don抰 have enough knowledge of the fundamental analysis; then Friday wouldn抰 be a great choice for you! Because, there have so many major fundamental events! But, avoiding the news session is not a good sign for the traders!

Most people close their positions on Fridays, not to mention that by Friday evening the volatility drops significantly. Also, if you trade on Friday you may end up with an open position over the weekend and then have to contend with gaps when the market opens on Monday.
Hello traders

I have been trading since 2019 and I can tell you that it is a very good idea to avoid trading on Fridays, the volume or liquidity is not at a good level to worth the trade. Let me make it very simple, every trader knows that there is no such certainty in trading it is about probabilities, so your winning set ups probabilities are much higher on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday than Fridays and Mondays. The risk to get in false signals and losing trades are higher on Fridays especially if you are a scalper. However, Mondays are somewhat good to trade especially if there is a high impact economic news. The bottom line, I totally avoid trading on Fridays, on Mondays I only trade A+ signals, signals that I should not avoid, and I never miss trading from Tuesday to Thursday as I am more confident during these days and my psychological trading mindset is optimum. I do advise you to not trade on Fridays and make your main focus on the middle of the week
Fridays are fine. If you want to avoid any days, dont trade first and last days of the month..
Im only here for the Guzzoline...
Why not, indeed.

Many traders don't like the weekend when the markets are closed. Some news may come out that affects the market.
Some traders close all positions at the end of the trading day for the very same reason.

If you are trading for a living, you have to withdraw money from your account to pay your bills. Obviously you can do so anytime, but many do it on Friday.

The big money, banks, investment firms, close shop after trading hours. That gives lower liquidity. Lower liquidity means more erratic behavior.

The impact of what I wrote depends on what your are trading. A major pair like EURUSD is less effected by those things than many (smaller) stocks. But even huge stocks can be affected. For example if their CEO dies. Or news of fraud comes out. Think Enron. Some traders like hyper aggressive markets. Many don't.

It's also a old saying, from the time everything went manually.
Fridays can be tricky because liquidity often drops and weekend gap risk is real if you hold positions, especially late in the day. Hedging can also cost more than simply reducing exposure or closing, depending on spreads and swap
I think that抯 an old and still established opinion that the liquidity dramatically drops on Fridays and it's better to avoid trading. To some extent it抯 true, but not entirely. Maybe for indices is valid, but for other assets this is not accurate anymore. I抦 too lazy to research data and show here that there is no significant liquidity drop on Fridays compared to the other days in the week. In the past, on the weekends there was no trading at all, now even that has changed. We have cryptocurrencies for the weekends. But here it抯 true that the liquidity is so low that it isn't really worth trading it on the weekends.
I trade almost every Friday, of course, if there is a trading opportunity. And on some Friday,s I have made some of the sweetest trades in my career.
