When we get a signal on 4hr chart, do we need confirmation from bigger timeframes like daily or weekly charts? And do we need to define the entry from smaller timeframes like 1hr or 15min charts? Or just trade off 4 hr chart.

I checked that idea on EA what i uploaded here. Well, it doesn't work with confirmation from bigger TF-s. But trading on Daily also give good results, but this is history and you test this by tester. Will you wait 100-200 pips for confirmation entry signal really? I dont think anybody wants "waiting". We all want "more and quickly". That's why i called this system "the worst system ever you seen"

Yes, I agree with that guy no needing MACD (5,13,1). This is just for add positions when you are on trend. Signal for adding generate by Phillip Nel's 4Hour MACD strategy - Trend Continues Signal. Thats all. And 1 thing also - breaking zero for additional confirmation.

Market is full of information. Win that guy who has a lot of information, so how much more confirmation you have your possibility to win also rising..

An impressive EA implementation of the H4 MACD system.

I did some minor change. Run the backward test from 1999 to 2010,

got average 7% growth per yr and the draw down is very low.

The EURUSD (see 2 posts above) reward rate seems to be low, but can be increased by setting the risk level of the EA t0 20 or 30, which will dramatically increase the reward.

Guys, İ have got these results too. First of all try to set 0.1 lot and compare the results on pips. Yes, the system gives results, good drawdown. But 100% for 7-10 years, so far it isn't enough for me. I'll tried to improve this EA, but I have a few knowledge about coding. I prepared additional rules for this.. For example buy doubling order if I'm on profit or enter buy fractal and another ways.

How to minimize risk and maximize profit?

I suggest to find something to avoid losses on range markets or just exit on 0 (no win, no loss)
I have back tested this and see that after crosses even if you are on range price move at least 30-50 pips..

Hello Ruben,
I was trying to make similar approach using the EMA channel. But I want to first test the EA that you modified. I have tried on the strategy tester on both demo and live account. Somehow it doesn't return any results. Have tried using the earlier setfiles also attached by other fellow members.
Am I missing something? Thanks in advance.

Thanks Feliks for sharing this system and for your hard work, however, the role of entry rules to filter the bad signals, but if you scroll the chart you will find every time ema 8 cross ema 21 the rsi and the macd match with the cross, so there is no any filter to the signals generated fromk the ma cross .... meaning my system based on only ema 8 and 21 crossover ....... when your setting of MACD cross zero line it means ema 5 cross ema 13 ... the tow EMA (5,13 and 8,21) is very close to each others so their cross over generat almost same signals ..... same regarding RSI does not filter the EMA cross ... if you allow me and i am very sorry if I crossed my borders, we can filter out the coss of EMA 8, 21 by only RSI250 , if above 50 enter only long if below 50 enter only short

MACD and RSI are sending the same signal (testing on EUR/USD on several TFs), they're telling the same, so first step should be REMOVING one of them, and to avoid ranges you can use bollinger bands width OR ADX, usually ADX > 20/25 is a good filter, i'll try to make my own EA with those changes and share the results with you.
