I have been channel surfing the sideways SPX, usually 1dte or 2 dte. The put flys are cheap so you can make them pretty wide. You pay less for either puts or calls if you go out a day or so. I will do call flys on any dip and put flys on good 1+ day up moves. Normally I will have both sides running at the same time, and always looking to take something off if I see 2x or better. If SPX crosses the guts early, I will cash out the fly. Which may be a small gain if there's still a day or two on it. Every now and then I will catch one with a near perfect finish at expiry. Just one of those will make up for many losses. I am putting on more BWF (puts) also, with 1-2 weeks to expiry, trying to hold those but they pay well even early on when they are 100 wide or more. I love trading flys....
